Driving into work Monday morning, commuters won't feel the two years worth of work under them or the $1.1 billion poured into the stretch from US 290 to US 59 North of Houston.
The new 24-mile tollway, known as Grand Parkway, opened Friday night and drivers will have their first morning rush experience Monday.
It's been a long time coming for area residents who waited for the lanes considered necessary to addresses local transportation issues as a result of rapid development.
