What we do as a company
I am excited to introduce to you, Texas Credit Advisors. We are a company that is dedicated to helping our community by advising them on how to raise their credit scores.  We can help you raise the quality of your life and your family’s lives simply by reviewing your credit report and helping you set a plan for action. Many people are paying lots of money in interest rates on mortgages and car loans along with double deposits on rentals. A low credit score can hurt many aspects of your life and for a long time. The credit system is a very difficult system to navigate but Texas Credit Advisors can help you do that for a small fee. We will help you pay less monthly and even help you buy a house of your own or get that new car you’ve been wanting. You will save lots of money if you have better credit. Don’t we all need a vacation? Well, with better credit, you will be able to go sooner than you think

About the Company
I decided to start this company because as a Realtor in Houston, I noticed that lots of past clients, including during the recent floods because of Hurricane Harvey, seemed to have pay lots money of to because of low credit scores. As a Realtor, I knew I could help in another way and therefore, I decided to start Texas Credit Advisors. I want to reach out to my clients and offer them a way to pay less in move-in costs.

Sorry Not Sorry, From Orlando, Mexico to Tel Aviv, We will Survive!

Being part of a city and being in the business of people, means always trying to reach out to all of those who make up the city and that don't understand one another in terms of neighborhood demographics most of the time... from all walks of life, we are all America and we are all Orlando in this respect.
(I write while respectfully keeping in mind all of my brothers and sisters in all parts of the world from Canada to Chile and the Caribbean and from England to South Africa, I'll keep fighting for you.)

So I have not blogged in the past couple of days because like many around the world, I have been grieving for my community. Now I am not talking about the Hispanic Community, the Jewish community or even the GLBT community, I am talking about the world community that is tired of senseless violence against innocent people that are just trying to live their lives in peace. Now I am also not trying to sound like a naïve person that doesn’t know that evil exists everywhere and that it is an innateness that lives in all people in every corner of the world. I am aware.  I am, however, tired of crying and tired of feeling helpless. What I am mostly tired of is feeling callous to the murders and brutality that I see on the television almost daily from around the world. In a sense, my heart now only seems to go through the motions of watching these senseless acts happen in the world.

But, you know what?  I am tired…it’s like ex-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin said, “Enough blood and tears, enough!” I know that we will not be able to save the world but we can at least try. I am not saying this as a US citizen but I mean we are the most powerful country in the world and in the world’s history, much is expected of us and we must live up to our potential and responsibilities. As we all know, extremists, left or right and politically and religiously, in every country, are dangerous to others in some fashions.  I feel that we must try to understand each other and to really just get over our differences. Why must we feel that we must be able to rule politically or religiously over another group of people?! I mean can’t we be “wrong” in our own minds and lives?

This comes to mind because of the recent world events that touched my life personally because I have strong ties to the US, Mexico and Israel. My heart is still heavy but I daily think about these events;

  • 43 disappeared Students protestor in Mexico
  • Countless attacks in Israel most recently in the Tel Aviv Restaurant and
  • Orlando

Recently, I was able to attend a community vigil in Houston for the victims of the horrific event that took place in Orlando i.e. our back yard. This attack still has the world reeling but hopefully it has brought us closer as a community in Houston, the US, and the World.

The attack in Orlando seems to have hit the world hard and Houston was no exception.   I was able to commiserate with my community and my friends at a local bar and GLBT nightclub and to listen to our local elected officials come together in order to lend their support.

So with a heavy heart and bewilderment in mind because what has been going on in the world, I attended what was to be a gathering like no other in Houston.

I ran into old friends and met new friends,  I cried, I laughed but most of all, I remembered those whose were now gone.

So as I write, my heart still hurts because of the constant attack on so many communities around the world. But I say this loud and I say this true, I will fight for those can no longer, I will fight for what is right and I will fight for love.

From Houston with love, #HappyPride2016

Houston - Refugees & Immigrants from all the World and My Immigrant Experience.

Houston has become the country's most diverse city surpassing NYC.

KHAS 2016 Graphic
The Kinder Institute provides us with a yearly breakdown of our demographics in the city of Houston and surrounding areas and we are happy to call those in need or wanting for a better life, neighbors and friends.

Click Click below to see the slide show of the report   https://kinder.rice.edu/uploadedFiles/Kinder_Institute_for_Urban_Research/HAS/2016%20KHAS%20-%20Luncheon%20Presentation.pdf

Houston is also proud to host the country's third largest diplomatic community after NYC and LA. Depending on the time of the year, about 94 countries have a presence in Houston. With this being said, many people from all over the world have come to Houston and will continue to come because of what Houston has to offer. From affordable housing to financial opportunities, we are the BEST!!!

Houston has become a beacon to people all over the world and I am very happy to be a part of this city's international community. We have had many waves of immigration and refugees come from all over and most recently from Syria. I am glad that in this crazy world, Houston, is seen a safe haven and great place to come and prosper.

From starting your business importing foods or goods from your home country to studying for a new professional degree, it can be done in Houston.

The City of Houston even has an official Office of International Communities And Refugee Affairs to help those familiarize themselves with a new way of life and new language. On the quotidian  level, we also have several organizations that help people with dealing with realities of  a new life in Houston. These organizations help with everything from finding a place to live to helping you find a job.

Interfaith Ministries, located at 3303 Main St. Houston, TX 77002, does great work in the community in regards to our refugee communities. They help with programs such as Meals on Wheels and other services for people that have become displaced because of political unrest, religious persecution or other complicated reasons around the world.

I myself am an immigrant from Mexico. My father brought my mother, sister and me in early 1980. I was only 6 months old and my life whole life I have lived in the US. I grew up running around a German Jewish Delicatessen called Alfred's where I learned to love to eat Gefilte fish on Passover. Together my parents worked with other people from Mexico, El Salvador, Israel, Germany and Poland. We all got along and have even became long lasting friends to this very day.

Houston was a G-d send for me and my family. I grew up and studied at some of the best public schools in the city and later graduated from UT in Austin Texas. Today I am a Realtor, Student of Life, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist.

Houston was truly a great place to grow up and it allowed my family to take part in the American dream, from learning the language to home ownership. My family is now more numerous in the city and the city continues to allow us to reach for the stars in our own right. But the idea is that we were only able to do this because of the financial opportunities that were provided to us by being in Houston.

(With no state income tax and our economic buffer of oil and gas companies located in Houston,  people were able to save and buy a home at a reasonable price. Today, times, "they are a changin" . People are still coming to Houston but for different reasons that do not involve Oil or Gas. In the 1980's, after the recession that brought Oil and Gas to its knees in Houston, we decided to diversify our "employment portfolio".  Now the biggest job creator in Houston is our world famous Medical Center. It is a virtual little city located in heart of city employing thousands.

Home ownership is a wealth creator and it is most of the time something that is far beyond the reach of many people in their home countries for a variety of reasons. In Houston there are also many organizations that help you buy a home. From city grants, federally backed loans, to investments, Houston is the place to be.

So you see no matter what your position in life, Houston can change it for the better. We all seem to get along as well. So no matter what your religion or politics are, we can all live together in Houston.

Remember Buy, Sell, Lease of Invest in Houston, I want to be your Realtor.

Come Celebrate World Refugee Day in Houston.

San Francisco was AWESOME but I love being back In Houston, Texas

I was very fortunate enough to travel to San Francisco California for a couple of days this past week and it was incredible. I was able to visit with some of my very best friends in the world and I got to meet others that were just simply great. A friend from LA was even able to come up to celebrate the birthday of one of our great friends.

San Francisco was simply beautiful and amazing. From the statues of the French Legion of Honor in the Presidio to the somber remembrance of the Holocaust.

Presidio, San Francisco, California area (in upper left side)

It seems that the mountains, bay, and natural parks there are some of the best in the world and the people are very talented as well.  I was also able to tour various parts of the city. I  toured Haight-Ashbury, the Mission, the Castro as well as the Golden Gate park areas. I even had a chance to cross the Golden Gate bridge and eat at a great restaurant in Sonoma called the Girl and the Fig.

The Girl and the Fig, 110 W Spain St, Sonoma, CA 95476, was great and the food and service we great as well. Although it was quite crowded for 1:30 pm on a Monday, it was still a pleasant experience and I would love to visit again. Their wines were very tasty from the Sonoma and Napa regions of California and their French inspired food was très magnifique. Their service was good and fast and their servers were polite and very accommodating. Brava! to them.

Beach Chalet, 1000 Great Hwy, San Francisco, CA 94121, was a great looking place but the food left something to be desired. Their drinks are good and refreshing and their service was on point.

(Outside of The Girl and the Fig Resurant at night)

I met and saw a great bunch of people from my past college days, present friends and future friends.

I also spent some time talking to my friends about real estate in the Bay Area. I was flabbergasted to say the least. In the city of San Francisco itself, the median value of homes has skyrocketed, from $670,000 at the beginning of 2012 to $1.12 million in May, a gain of more than 67%, according to Zillow.com, which puts the gain in the past year alone at 11% (though that’s down from a year-over-year estimate of 14% in February). Prices are only expected to increase about 2.6% over the next year. This was incredible to me because Houston is definitely not this type of market.
I really loved my chance to get away and see a part of the world that I really did not know. And although I liked everything about San Francisco, I really loved coming back home to Texas. Houston is my home and I missed it. Until next time San Francisco.

Please note that although I was away, I continued to work remotely.  Buy, Sell, Lease or Invest, I want to be your Realtor.

Ready, Set, Go! Let's go to the Museum #liveinhoustonproperties

Yesterday I had the honor of hearing Ms. Janette Sadik-Khan speak at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston about how she, and the Bloomberg Administration in NYC, changed the streets of NYC forever. She talked about the arduous process that they had to go through from getting city council on their side to getting the people to see the potential pleasure it would be to have more green spaces and a better flow of traffic in The City. She talked about how influential her team was at getting the, "Crossroads of World", Time Square, closed to cars. She also discussed how she and her team actually listened to the people of NYC and discovered that they needed and wanted more bike lanes. So she decided to research other cities around the world and in the US to see some ideas that they had in order to implement said ideas.

Well, the lecture went great and I really appreciate the, #KIforum and #streetfight, Kinder Institute, Janette Sadik-Khan and her right hand man Seth Solomonow for coming to Houston and talking to no only us, the people interested in transportation and mobility, but also our city leaders. Sadik-Khan was also promoting her book called "#StreetFight and I look forward to listening it to on Audible while driving in Houston.

Picture

The lecture took place at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The MFAH located at 1001 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77005, is one of the worlds greatest fine arts museums. I am probably a little bit bias though when i say this...

The museum and its staff are ALWAYS hard at work bringing us, great art from around the world, films, interactive pieces and even dance parties from time to time. The MFAH art collections and exhibitions are presented primarily in the Museum’s two main gallery buildings: the Audrey Jones Beck Building and the Caroline Wiess Law Building. Connected by the underground Wilson Tunnel, these two locations also house the café, shop, library, Kinder Foundation Education Center, and Brown Auditorium Theater.

This museum is really just one of many awesome museums that are located in Houston and all in primarily one area in town. The Museum District, Houston. Check them all out and see what I am talkin' bout, http://houmuse.com/.

This part of town is truly remarkable and it's a great place to live. With its proximity to the Medical Center, Rice University, the Houston Zoo, and Hermann Park, this area is a Urbanite's dream. The homes in this part of town are more then just fabulous though, they are spectacular! This part of town is home to a lot of very sophisticated more established families. The Rice/museum District subdivision is surrounded with restaurants, education opportunities, entertainment venues, shopping and more. The houses in this area start at about 500 K and can go up from there into the multi-millions. They can range from very traditional to very modern in architecture. If you are interested in this part of town, please let me know. I would  love to your Realtor.

This is truly an awesome part or town and close to EVERYTHING. Please let me know if you have any questions. Buy, Sell, Lease or Invest, I want to be your Realtor.

Call, Text, Email, Facebook or Snapchat, I am at your service.

Houston and its ever changing landscape, Political and Physical

So I decided to go for a long walk the other day in one of Houston's amazing park areas, Eleanor Tinsley Park and Buffalo Bayou Park. "Eleanor Tinsley Park is a section of Buffalo Bayou Park in Houston, Texas. It was designated on April 20, 1998 in honor of Eleanor Tinsley, who served as a member of the Houston City Council At-Large for 16 years. The park houses the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark, the Shady Grove Victim Memorial, a Henry Moore sculpture entitled "Large Spindle Piece", the Houston Police Officers' Memorial, Glenwood Cemetery, the San Felipe playground, jogging trails, and a sand pit which can be used for volleyball. This is all inside a bigger section called, Buffalo Bayou Park. Buffalo Bayou Park offers 160 acres of beautiful scenery and skyline views, artwork, a nature play area, the “go-to” dog park in the city, hike and bike trails, and gathering places for visitors to enjoy outdoor activities as well as live, artistic performances. Stretching from Shepherd Drive to Sabine Street between Allen Parkway and Memorial Drive, it is fulfilling its potential as one of the country’s great urban parks. This park recently went through heavy flooding though in the last couple of months after being renovated and completely "modernized". This park was designed this way in order to relieve other bayous in Houston and make way for the water in our system to make its way to the sea.

This area is home to affluent Houstonians with homes in the price range from the hundreds of thousands to the millions. In the immediate surrounding areas you will find River Oaks, The Houston Heights, Montrose and Washington Corridor. These are all great areas with home values that continue to rise year after year. If you would like to check out the real estate in these areas for a new home or investment property, please call me. I want to be your Realtor.

The people in this city are also very active in sports, arts and especially politics. During my travels around the city, I usually have the honor of meeting different groups of people that represent the many streams of politics. From rightest right to leftest left, I want to meet them all. That is part of what makes Houston, Houston. We might not all see the same way politically but we all seem to love this city and our way of life in Texas.

I was able to make a fundraiser at an  awesome venue with valet parking called,

Rosemont Social Club. Rosemont Social Club located at 910 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006,

A lounge in the heart of Montrose - Houston serving cocktails and lite bites with an indoor/patio bar. It was a good time and a great atmosphere. I met a couple of very nice people and I had to a chance to catch up with old friends and new ones

Houston really has something for everyone and it is impossible not to meet great people. So if you are looking to move closer to the action or if you are ready to slow down and stop and smell the bluebonnets, I can help you find the perfect spot.

If you are ready to Buy, Sell, Lease or Invest, I want to be your Realtor.
